EVALUATION OF THE WATER RETENTION CAPACITY OF SUBSTRATES WITH POTASSIUM POLYACRYLATE FOR THE CULTIVATION OF BROAD BEANS IN A CONTROLLED ENVIRONMENT.
This research has the aim of studying the agronomical behavior of Sangre de Cristo and Regular broad bean crops using two types of soil (recovered from Cangagua and sandy loam soil), using three applications of Potassium Polyacrylate, plus the control sample. The statistical analysis used was a D.C.A. with 5 samples, and the research was performed in the CADET. The best growth results of the plants were evidenced in treatments 7 and 8; with respect to root size, at nine weeks in treatments 3 and 12; regarding strength, treatments 1 and 6; wet weight of the root, treatments 9 and 8; and finally, wet and dry foliage weight, treatments 9 and 8. The best dose of the product after irrigation was low and medium dosage. The economical analysis evidences that the best increase in total cost is 5% compared to the control sample.
